this acceptable use policy which describes how you may use Our Website. These are in addition to the Storydo Terms and Conditions for anybody who uses the Storydo BookBuilder or purchases a book.

By using our site, you accept the terms of this acceptable use policy, and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these terms, please leave our site.

This acceptable use policy sets out the content standards that apply when you visit and use our site, upload content, link to our site, or interact with our site in any other way.

You agree to not reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of our site in contravention of the provisions of our terms of website use storydo.co.uk/t-and-cs That means that you cannot: 

 

• modify or copy our questionnaires, the way they link and tell stories;

• modify or copy our bookbuilder, the way it links questions, and tells stories;

• link to Our Website in any way that would cause the appearance or presentation of the site to be different from what would be seen by a user who accessed the site by typing the URL into a standard browser;

• download any part of Our Website, without our express written consent;

• collect or use any part of the content on Our Website, Books listings, descriptions, or prices;

• collect or use any information obtained from or about Our Website or the Content except as intended by what is set in the Storydo Terms and Conditions;

• aggregate, copy or duplicate in any manner any of the Content or information available from Our Website, other than as permitted by the Terms and Conditions, or as is reasonably necessary for your use of Our Website;


 Linking to our site

We grant a licence to you to create a hyperlink to Our Website to promote an interest common to both of us. You can do this without specific permission. This licence is conditional upon you not portraying us or any Books or service in a false, misleading, derogatory, or otherwise offensive manner. Where we haven’t been in contact with you, asking for a cooperation, or a link to Our Website, please contact us before using our logo or other proprietary graphic or trademark of ours.

 

The security of Our Website

 

You agree to not access without authority, interfere with, modify, damage or disrupt any part of our site, any equipment or network on which our site is stored as well as any software used in the provision of our site, or any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party in connection with our site.

 

You agree to not knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware or contains software viruses, or any other technology designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of the services.

You also agree to not use our site in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect, or for the purpose of harming or attempting to harm anybody, including minors, in any way.

You will not use our site or services to bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person, or send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards.

You agree to not transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).

You agree to not use our site or services in any way that involves child sexual exploitation or abuse or terrorist content.

 

 

What you can and can’t include in your book

 

As set out in our terms and conditions, you have the consent of the people you will include to be featured in the book, and you can’t upload anything that’s inappropriate for a children’s book, misleading, defamatory or harmful. Please refer to our Terms and conditions for more information.

 

 

Interactive services

 

We may use interactive services in future, for example to display testimonials on our site, gathered either directly by Our Website, or via third parties.

Where we do provide an interactive service (for example to display feedback, reviews and testimonials as well as images sent in by customers), we will provide clear information to you about the kind of service offered, if it is moderated and what form of moderation is used (including whether it is human or technical).

We are under no obligation to oversee, monitor or moderate any interactive service we provide on our site, and cannot be held liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of any interactive service by a user in contravention of our content standards, whether the service is moderated or not.

For the avoidance of doubt, for any contribution in the form of photography or video content:

  1. You must tell us immediately, if you upload a photograph containing any of the following: criminal material (relating to terrorism, sexual exploitation of children, child pornography, racism and xenophobia), unclassified or unclassifiable videos, videos rated R18 or suitable for R18 rating and other material that might impair the physical, mental or moral development of persons under the age of 18 (restricted material).
  2. You must not upload a photograph or video containing harmful material.

 

Breach of this policy

When we consider that a breach of this acceptable use policy has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate.  

Failure to comply with this acceptable use policy constitutes a material breach of the terms of use storydo.co.uk/t-and-cs  upon which you are permitted to use our site, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:

We exclude our liability for all action we may take in response to breaches of this acceptable use policy. The actions we may take are not limited to those described above, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.

 

How this contract can be transferred

We can transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to any third party, provided this does not adversely affect your rights under these terms.

 

Which country's laws apply to any disputes?

If you are a consumer, please note that the terms of this policy, its subject matter and its formation are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.

If you are a business, the terms of this policy, its subject matter and its formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. We both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
